How long is the Mommy Measure? The Mommy Measure is 61 inches in length.
Where on the tape is the zero inch/starting mark?
The zero inch mark, or starting point, is the beginning of the vinyl (where the ribbon attaches to the Mommy Measure). Fundal height and belly circumference are measured by placing the ribbon end of the measure at the appropriate location to record an accurate measurement. View Example>>>
What is the Weeks Pregnant Scale? The Weeks Pregnant Scale is located at the start of the tape at the Week 13 mark and measures through to Week 42. This scale is used to measure your Fundal Height each week and allows you to see if your uterus size is measuring smaller, exactly, or larger than your baby's gestational age. (For example: If you are currently 25 weeks pregnant and you are measuring 26 weeks on the Weeks pregnant scale, you are measuring larger than the baby’s gestational age.)
What do I write next to each week of the Weeks Pregnant Scale? The Weeks Pregnant Scale represents where you should be measuring for your Fundal Height. You should mark on the scale where you are currently measuring in order to see if you are measuring above or below your current week of pregnancy. For example, you may be in Week 25 of your pregnancy but are measuring just below Week 27 on the scale. We suggest that you mark your measurement on the scale just below Week 27 and then write Week 25 next to your measurement. View Example>>>
What is Fundal Height? Fundal Height is a way to measure a pregnant belly to see if the gestational age is compatible with the uterus size. A baby growing inside of the womb of a pregnant woman will have a Fundal height measurement in centimeters that will match closely if not exactly with the amount of weeks the mother is pregnant. For example, a woman who is 33 weeks pregnant should have a Fundal height measurement of 32-34 centimeters.
What is the best way to write on the surface of the Mommy Measure?
We suggest you use a fine point permanent marker or ball point pen to document your milestones. This will help prevent smearing and fading of your written marks.
In which areas should I write for Fundal Height and Belly Circumference?
We recommend that when you are measuring and recording your Fundal height on the Weeks Pregnant Scale you write your current week of pregnancy (i.e. Week 32) next to your actual measurement (View Example>>>).
After measuring your belly circumference we recommend that you write directly under the inches scale in the space provided. (view example>>>).
What is included with the Mommy Measure?
Included with each Mommy Measure are heart shaped marking stickers and a mini ultra fine point marker.
Where should I use the heart stickers?
The heart shaped stickers should be used for each belly circumference measurement. Once you have measured your belly circumference place a sticker on the inches scale to indicate the measurement. View Example>>>
